CmParser is a utility created by MineBridge Software Inc. that allows clients to analyse network license usage based on the log files created the CodeMeter's network license server. Admins need to explicitly enable the creation of usage logs (CodeMeter doesn't enable this by default).
CodeMeter tracking logs can be found in the directory: C:\ProgramData\CodeMeter\LicenseTracking\FC5000286 for users with Software based CodeMeter licenses on their server, and C:\ProgramData\CodeMeter\LicenseTracking\FC100598 for users with USB CodeMeter licenses.
Using CmParser
CmParser can be downloaded from the Muk3D download site and does not depend on any other software. We do not recommend that this software is installed on the license server, but instead, the server admin should copy files from the server onto another PC with CmParser installed.
Once installed it can be launched from Start menu/MineBridge Software/CmParser.
In this example, log files were copied from the server and placed in a folder on the Desktop. To import the files, run File/Import log files from directory. Select the log file directory.
CmParser will import the files and the list of Logfiles will appear in the window. Selecting a log file will summarise the data in the Stats window. This data include:
- Log file start/end dates & time span.
- Total number of sessions where the user was only checking out a Formation license
- Total number of sessions where the user checked out a Tailings+ license.
- Number of license denials (user tried to check out a license while all licenses were already in use).
The Plot tab shows the number of concurrent sessions over the duration of the log file.
Red dots indicate times when license access was denied.
Creating reports
Reports can be created by clicking on one of the options under the Reports heading. These will summarise the data in the Stats and Plot windows.
Reports can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet using the Reporting/Save current report. Set the sheet name and location and data will written to an Excel file.
