Importing gridded data from a text file
If data has been gridded in a GIS or other package and exported as a text file with XYZ points, it can be easily imported into Muck3D as a grid, using a few different methods.
Method 1
If the text file has a .txt or .xyz extension, it can be dragged and dropped into the 3D window. Once the grid points are loaded, run the command Grid/Create/Create grid from grid points.
This command will build the grid, masking any missing points, and relies on the user specifying the grid spacing.
Method 2
Run the command Data Import/Text data/Import gridded XYZ data
The grid spacing will be automatically detected and a grid added to the 3D window.
